2010 Here We Come...

I just want to tell you all a Happy New Year and wish you well in the
coming year. Last year was rough for a lot of people and I hope and pray
2010 will be better.

May the New Year bring peace, prosperity and happiness to you all and
thank you for your friendship this last year, it has been a tremendous
blessing and so much fun!

No graddiose plans for me, just babysitting until I can con the little
ones into going to BED. Sooner rather than later. It has been an extremely
LONG week with the extra kids around, not to mention the horrid cold
which I think is FINALLY on it's way out, along with the old year. I did
manage to add a new look to my blog for the New Year. Knowing me it
will change next month!

Have a safe and Happy New Year and thanks for joining me this
last year, it has been a joy to get to know each and every one of you!!!

Post Christmas Update...

Hi everyone. I know I haven't been making the rounds lately, but I've
been occupied with a niece and nephew that have been visiting since
Christmas, not to mention the two I have all the time. So that makes 4
rugrats I've been busy with. Not to mention the horrific cold I came down
with Christmas night and am still suffering with.

I haven't felt like doing anything, I just gaze longingly at the
Christmas decorations and hope they will magically fling themselves
into their designated boxes. Which will never happen because they
don't know which box to fling to. I got so many new things this year
everything needs to be re-packed.

On the up side I did read a book, the last Harry Potter novel has been
calling my name, being as I had only read the poor thing once since I
bought it. It was just as good the second time around.

So hopefully by the time the weekend rolls around I will be back
to blogging regularly. I'm sorry if I don't leave you a comment
but I promise I am reading your posts, my loveleighs!

Pink Saturday

Welcome back to the land of pink after a belly~full of red and green!

Our hostess Beverly from How Sweet The Sound even took the time this
week to do Pink Saturday for us. Personally I think this superwoman
should schedule herself a pink free vacation soon. She deserves it after all
she does for us every week!

This week I'd like to introduce you all to the newest
member of the family...

Meet my new Niece, Miss Buttercup!

She is a lab/shar-pei mix and she is a welcome addition to the family.

Especially since I don't have to be the one to potty train her!

Hollie Foo Foo didn't know what to think, but she was pretty sure
she wasn't gonna like it. I'm sure she was thrilled when she went
home. I think she's still waiting for Jax to go home and he's lived in
the same house with her for 6 years! She's not to thrilled about it
though. Funnily enough, he adores HER, ain't that just like a
woman! She toughed it out and eventually warmed up to her, a
little bit.

Happy Pink Saturday all!

Peek~A~Boo Presents

Photo courtesy of Victoria Trading Co.

I read a post from Marydon @ Blushing Rose recently and she
asked
what sort of mischief did you get up to as a child during the
holidays?

I thought for a minute, I was usually pretty good, not much of a trouble-
maker, when I remembered this ONE Christmas.

I was 11 years old and in the 6th grade, old enough to know better for
certain. I went on the prowl. Silently sleuthing throughout the whole
house on the hunt for hidden Christmas presents.

After some searching I finally hit the jackpot. In my parents bedroom
closet. On the top shelf. Under some clothes.

A TEDDY BEAR

I knew instantly it was for me. I was the only one in the house that
had a fierce obsession with all things teddy bear that year.
I was very excited but instantly felt guilty for peeking and it did ruin
the surprise for Christmas that year. Thankfully that was the only
gift I located or Christmas would have really been a bummer and it
would have been nobody's fault but my own!

I got all sorts of bears. Big on
es. Small ones, even a couple bears
that my Mom sewed clothes for. It was a bear extravaganza.

I did learn my lesson, I have never peeked at a Christmas gift
since that Christmas long long ago, however that is not to say that
I haven't
been tempted!

Speaking of bears, I just found out I won this sweet girl, Kichi! Sandi from
Bearly Sane-Blog of a bear Nut had a giveaway and my name was drawn!
We have decided she was fated to be mine since Sandi and I are both
Geminis and Kichi is from a series of Gemini Bears. It's odd that I already
had this post ready to go about my collection of bears when I was little. I
think it must fate.

Sandi also has another bear, Kiku, that she is going to give away. If

you would like a chance to win her, go see Sandi HERE to sign up!

On a side note, my Sister recently found a website called PNP
Communications~Portable North Pole. This site lets you personalize
a message from Santa to a special child (or adult!) in your life. My
Sister had a message sent to my Nephew (via email) and you should have
seen his
eyes widen when Santa said his name and even knew what he
wanted
for Christmas. His whole little face lit up, it was so much fun to
watch!
I hope you check it out, it really is worth it!

Pink Saturday

Merry Pink Saturday everyone!

Today our pink mission is to tell of a favorite family Christmas
tradition. Somehow this tradition has to involve pink,
or as befitting the season...red.

As a child celebrating Christmas with my Mom's side of the family,
my favorite part wasn't all of the pretty presents wrapped
and placed under the tree...

It was the Christmas stockings. All red and fuzzy and lined up in their rows.
The nails they hung on were left up all year just waiting for them to make
their arrival each December. I loved all the tiny little gifts tucked inside.
You could end up with yummy smelling bars of soap, bath beads full of oil,
a pretty necklace or even a pair of socks. It didn't matter, it was all so much
fun to unwrap and discover what lay inside.

AS to the pictures, the first one was really of my Nana's tree one year.
How I wish I had that rag rug on the floor in front of it!

The second photo has my Dad in it, you gotta love those 70's
hair-do's and my cousin Paint Girl. There were 5 of us little girl
cousins running around in those days.

Thank you for strolling down memory lane with me and thank you to

Beverly of How Sweet The Sound for hosting Pink Saturday for us!

Can you believe this is out last Saturday before Christmas!!!

Happy Holidays all!

Christmas Around The House!

Welcome, please come in and see some sights around the house. Stroll on
through and feel free to hit play on the Playlist to listen to some Christmas
cheer while you peek into all the corners!

Outside on the porch...this only took me 3 and a half hours to

decorate and I only had to wait 2 weeks for the temperatures to
move up past freezing in order to do it! Let's face it when the
thermometer dips that low I hunker down and don't want to go
outside. At all.

The inside tree. This tree is basically Man Cub proof! Anything breakable is
placed at the tippy top of the tree. Trust me when I tell you there have been
SEVERAL things to come off the tree already. First the candy canes, then the
trains and finally he's beginning to spot the fancy breakables and wants to
get his hands on those. Badly. So far they've been safe.

Thanks for stopping by to visit and have a great weekend.
I hope you get all your shopping done, that's what I intend to do!
