Willow was my first doily blanket pattern. I created it for the Fall 2011 issue of CraftSanity Magazine. It yields a generously sized lap blanket. Use an acrylic yarn for a durable throw blanket for your couch or use your favorite wool to create a warm blanket for chilly evenings.
Yarn used for sample:
Less than 2 skeins (~525 yards) of Hobby Lobby’s I Love This Yarn [7 ounces/355 Yards each]
Hook:
6mm (J)

Buy ‘Willow’ alone ($3.75) OR buy Lace Love ($7.50)
Willow is included in the Lace Love book and also in the October 2011 issue of CraftSanity Magazine.
This is beautiful!!
Is this a free pattern or for sale. And where can I obtain the pattern?
Thank you!
Annie
I’m gonna crochet this blanket SO HARD!
Any chance you would sell your blankets?

Hello! This is so pretty! I stumbled upon it somehow on a crochet blog and quickly found the craft sanity magazine so I ordered that issue – was so happy they still had some! I also just purchased the glory pattern and am so very excited to get started on these! They are so pretty and I am learning to crochet and am looking forward to learning now to work in the round! Love your patterns! Can’t wait to try Anya and Dory, too! :O)

I recently purchased this pattern for two reasons:
1. I fell head over heals in love with it and knew I had to crochet two of these for my living room.
2. My Mom, who is 88 years old and has been crocheting for over 75 years LOVES to crochet doilies. I shared this with her and sure enough she was crocheting Willow in every color she has.
Love this site so much. Thank you for Willow. It’s a memory for my Mom and I that I’ll cherish.
I love this blanket! Just finished one in fuchsia and I love the mustardy/gold color you’ve used above. I’d love to make one in that color next! Any chance you know what the name of that color is? Is it also HL I Love This Yarn? Thanks so much for sharing your talents!!
I believe the golden one was Vanna’s Choice in mustard, though it’s possible it could have been the HL yarn in sungold. I’m not 100% sure!
Hi there! I’m absolutely in love with this pattern, thank you so much for creating and sharing it! I’m currently struggling with the CL though – I never end up with 3 or 5 loops on my hook, but rather 4 and 7 loops.
When I start the CL, I already have 1 loop on my hook. Then I YO, pull loop through 3ch sp, YO, and pull through 2 loops – so I have my beginning loop and the loop I just pulled through. If I repeat that twice, I wind up with 4 loops, not 3. Clearly, I’m doing something wrong, I just can’t figure out what! Help would be greatly, greatly appreciated!
