Where are Guitars From?
especiales
Answering where all guitars that exist on the planet today come from is impossible; but at least one seventh of the world's guitar production can be assured that is based in China.
Thus argued in an article by EFE agency, the source for this text, in which they report on the Chinese county of Zhengan, in the province of Guizhou, where an increasing percentage of the manufacture of musical instruments is concentrated globally.
In this town, during the last five years they produced an annual average of 2.25 million guitars, according to representatives of that industry.
Concentrating these production volumes allows its workers to reach high levels of specialization in certain techniques or pieces, which, in turn, supports the quality of the instruments created there.
Instead of importing wood for their guitars, they use bamboo, “an innovative and widely available alternative in China” that aligns with a “millennial cultural tradition” in the manufacture of other instruments such as flutes, commented businessman Li Qiwang, head of production at the local company Natasha.
It’s a young company, barely 50 years old, that must face competition from famous international brands in the production of guitars, but even so, in Zhengan they continue to aim to establish themselves in the market, always guided by the motto that, from a large sign, welcomes that town: “music makes life more beautiful”.
