Baking up Strawberry Pie

I know it's not exactly the season for Strawberries, but doesn't a sweet juicy piece of strawberry pie with glaze and whip cream sound scrumptious?  Can you imagine the buttery flaky crust, filled with irresistible fresh strawberries?  Yummy!!

This is my delicious version

This was a Christmas swap I participated in with my
quilt club.  The sweet Pie made up in wool on
the left I received and the Pie on the right
I baked up for the swap.

Ingredients ~ 1 Ramekin dish, 1 Flakey pie crust fabric,
3 Pounds fresh strawberry fabric,
I used warm & natural batting next to the strawberry fabric,
then added some poly fil in the middle, then filled the bottom
with plastic pellets.  The pie on the left was filled with
walnut shells.

This was a machine and hand sewn project and took me about 4 hours.
Longer than it would have taken me to bake a real pie.   Of course
there's  a lot of trial and error baked in.

Thanks for stopping by and have a creative day.

Clay Tile Bracelet and Flip Flop Blocks

One of my other passions I haven't shared in awhile is beading.  I love to create jewelry, mainly bracelets and these clay tiles caught my eye recently and instantly made me smile.  I immediately knew they would be perfect for a good friend who loves roses and anything pink or purple.   In fact I can't say I've met someone ( an adult woman ) who loves all things pink like this friend.  Her birthday was earlier in the month so I made this tile bracelet and I'm so happy to report it was a big hit, she loved it.  Sometimes when you buy or make a gift you wonder if the person really liked it or not.  Well I  know she loves it because she keeps telling me so.  That's always a good feeling when someone loves what you create and so encouraging to continue your craft.

Every month our guild has a block lotto and we can choose to participate or not.  This adorable Flip Flop pattern was one of our summer patterns and I couldn't resist making a whole quilt in this pattern.  These are two of the blocks in progress.  I have the blocks all completed now and laid out on my design wall waiting to be put together.

Thanks for stopping by my blog and have a Happy Thanksgiving!
