Greenacres WFC

Greenacres' breakthrough 2009 premiership came after successive losing grand finals in 2007 and 2008, both against Eagles. With the 2009 grand final again pitting the Dragons against the Eagles most of the smart money was on a hat trick of flags for the latter, not least because Greenacres had lost every previous clash between the sides for the season. However, grand finals are a game apart, and the Dragons played with great tenacity and panache to win with some comfort by 13 points, 5.9 (39) to 4.2 (26). In a sense the triumph represented a "coming of age" for the club which has since gone on to add a second premiership in 2013 following a losing grand final the previous year. Once again, the Dragons entered the grand final, this time against Morphettville Park, as underdogs, but they were simply too good on the day, winning 3.8 (26) to 2.6 (18).

Subsequent campaigns have been a trifle disappointing by comparison and the 2017 season saw the Dragons lining up in Division Two of the Adelaide Footy League's women's competition and ultimately finishing fourth, a result that was repeated in 2018.
