The Weather Walls are massive structures in the city of Zootopia. They were designed and built by Agnes De'Snake to maintain the climate environments across the city's five districts: Savanna Central, the Rainforest District, Tundratown, Sahara Square, and Reptile Ravine.
Layout[]
The Weather Walls are massive, stories-high barriers that completely divide Tundratown and Sahara Square, functioning like immense air conditioners that keep one side frozen with "snowblowers" while releasing heat to sustain the other side's dry desert atmosphere. They were designed and built by Agnes De'Snake so that Zootopia would be a place welcoming animals of all kinds, maintaining the climate environments through the city's five districts. Credit for her work was later stolen by Ebenezer Lynxley – who came to be regarded as their creator and one of the city's founders for the next century.
At their base lies a tunnel for vehicles to pass through, while elevated train tracks carry the Zootopia Express, allowing citizens to travel easily between districts. Other Weather Walls also separate the Rainforest District and Savanna Central from Sahara Square and Tundratown, though these appear less prominently in the films.
Appearances[]
In Zootopia, one Weather Wall is briefly seen as Judy Hopps' train passes from Sahara Square into Tundratown, marking the dramatic shift in climate.
In Zootopia+, episode "Hopp on Board", Stu Hopps races through the Weather Walls after Molly, who sneaks aboard the train to follow Judy, while Bonnie Hopps drives alongside – showing them as both a barrier and a gateway in the city's transit system.
In Zootopia 2, they become central to the scandal of Agnes De'Snake's stolen patent and the displacement of reptiles from Reptile Ravine.
