LEGO Disney Princess: Villains Unite is an animated action/adventure crossover special developed by LEGO in collaboration with the Disney Princess franchise and a sequel to LEGO Disney Princess: The Castle Quest. The special premiered on Disney+ on August 25, 2025 as part of World Princess Week. The special premiered on Disney Channel on September 30, 2025.

Synopsis[]

After Ariel, Moana, Tiana, Rapunzel, and Snow White thwarted Gaston's plan to take over all of their kingdoms, he calls upon Ursula, Jafar, and the Evil Queen to help take the Princesses down once and for all. The Princesses learn about Gaston's scheme and recruit a few friends of their own with the help of Magic Mirror: Aurora, Belle, and Cinderella! Together, the Princesses team up for an ultimate showdown of good versus evil.

Plot[]

While on her way to the village marketplace, Snow White plans to get other fruits as she is still wary around apples after having previously eaten a poisoned apple. She is shocked upon the sight of Gaston's return where he now has Sir Hiss as his companion as he explains to him how he survived his encounter with Dragon Maleficent. Gaston has formed a team with Jafar, Ursula, and the Evil Queen to defeat the princesses and reclaim the castle from them following his previous defeat.

Snow White returns to the castle and alerts them of Gaston's plan, to which Ariel, Tiana, Moana, and Rapunzel all decide that they will need extra help in saving the day. Upon being told by Snow White that the Evil Queen will not like it if she finds him with Snow White, the Magic Mirror helps them by summoning Cinderella, Aurora, and Belle to join the team.

The princesses learn that Gaston has also called upon a "bog monster". While first frightened, the princesses are reminded to not give into fear by Snow White. The villains get into a disagreement over who will get the castle when the princesses attack and defeat the villains where Snow White gets over her weariness of apples to defeat her stepmother. It is then that the "bog monster" shows up, revealed to be Chernabog. His presence scares off the other villains except for Gaston and Sir Hiss. Tiana suggests that Gaston team up with them to save the day, but Chernabog ends up turning him into a pig as Gaston constantly fails to get Chernabog to work with him. Realizing that Chernabog only grows more powerful the stronger the night sky is, the eight princesses create a mock sunrise to turn him into a powerless bat that got dubbed "Chernabat".

Recognizing the damages, everyone helps rebuild the village with additional help from the villagers. Sir Hiss tells Gaston that he likes his new look. The princesses find Aurora sleeping with "Chernabat".

Trivia[]

  • In contrast to the first movie's runtime which is 46 minutes long, the sequel's runtime is half it's runtime, being only 22 minutes long.
  • Just like the first movie, this was one of the few productions based on the Disney Princess franchise that actually showcased the Princesses (especially the earliest three Princesses, such as Snow White) as more proactive characters.
  • Continuity-wise, this special very likely takes place after the events of the Princesses' and villains' respective debut films Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, The Princess and the Frog, Aladdin, Tangled, and Moana. This is especially hinted in several scenes of the film;
    • As the Princesses travel to the village marketplace through the forest, Aurora mentions having woken up from the sleeping spell at the end of her film Sleeping Beauty.
    • As the Princesses travel to the village marketplace through the forest, Belle remarks to Ariel on how Gaston became evil after Belle rejected his affections at the end of her film Beauty and the Beast.
  • However, there are potential continuity errors between this special and the villains' respective debut films Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin.
    • Most of these films' villains such as The Evil Queen, Ursula and Gaston technically had died at the end of their respective films, with no explanation whatsoever on how the former two are brought back to life by the latter. This continuity error is most obvious in Gaston's case, since in the ending of his film Beauty and the Beast Gaston fell to his death into the castle moat, but still remained alive in LEGO Disney Princess: The Castle Quest which takes place afterwards, hence resulting in a plot hole in how Gaston survived the fall at the end of Beauty and the Beast.
    • When Ursula flees from the Bog Monster, she remarks to Gaston that she has to take her eels Flotsam and Jetsam for a swim, despite the fact that Flotsam and Jetsam, like Ursula herself, technically would've been dead after the events of her film The Little Mermaid.
    • Iago, who appeared in the previous film, is not paired with Jafar when the latter is summoned, despite both of them having been trapped in the lamp at the end of their film Aladdin after Jafar wishes to become an all-powerful genie.
  • Jasmine (despite being mentioned by Jafar), Pocahontas, Mulan, Merida, Raya, Lady Tremaine, Mor'du, Tamatoa, Mother Gothel, Maleficent (in true form), Governor Ratcliffe, Namaari, Queen of Hearts, Captain Hook, Scar, Hades, Prince John, Dr. Facilier, Cruella De Vil, and Shan Yu have yet to appear in this franchise, although they have the titles of princesses and villains.
  • Despite appearing in the first movie, Maleficent (in dragon form), King Triton, Iago, Wardrobe, and Gramma Tala (as a manta ray spirit) do not appear.
  • Sir Hiss is a character from Robin Hood, which is not part of the Disney Princess media, but they included him for the royalty themes. After Flower and Mr. Smee in the previous movie.
  • A number of Disney characters make non-speaking appearances throughout the special. These include:
  • This special marks the second time Debra Wilson voices Ursula after Pat Carroll's death in 2022, the first being the videogame Disney Speedstorm.
  • The village marketplace in this film resembles the French village from Beauty and the Beast.
  • Snow White briefly getting part of her cape torn on a branch is a reference to her movie when Snow White got her dress and cape caught on the branches of the scary trees in the dark forest.
  • Cinderella's weapon, a giant scissors, is a reference to her dress, which the mice use it to restyle it from her late mother's old dress into a beautiful ball gown using discarded trimmings from Anastasia's pink sash and Drizella's green beaded necklace.
    • Cinderella's other weapon, a broomstick, is a reference to the scene from her film where Cinderella intends to punish Lucifer with her broomstick for the mess the cat has made by jumping all around the freshly-scrubbed floor with his dust-covered paws.
  • It is revealed in this film that Snow White banned apples in the princesses' castle. This could be due to Snow White's traumatic experience of getting killed by Poison Apples by the Evil Queen at the ending of her film. Although during her fight with the Evil Queen, Snow White throws apples at her and she eats one, so it could be that Snow White started liking apples again.
  • Rapunzel's failed alternative weapons after trading her signature frying pan for Tiana to cook some delicious snacks to take to the village marketplace consists of the following;
    • A pillow (It explodes with the stuffing popping out after getting hit).
    • The castle mailbox (A stream of letters pop out of it after getting hit).
