- “Stab me straight into the heart!”
- ―Its catchphrase.
The Anti-Venom Pen is a type of auto-injector owned by Gary De'Snake which he uses whenever he accidentally or intentionally bites someone and inflicts them with venom.
Role in the film[]
In the Lynxley Manor, after Gary De'Snake accidentally bit Chief Bogo in a frantic manner of escape, he desperately pleads for Judy to find his Anti-Venom Pen so he can save him, but not before Nick and Judy save Gary from the police by throwing him out the window without the Lynxley's Journal.
After Gary and Pawbert Lynxley rescue a tranquilized Judy Hopps from a crumbling Honeymoon Lodge, Gary first uses his anti-venom pen and stabs it into Judy's heart in order to subdue the poisonous effects of the ZPD's tranquilizer.
Later on, after injecting Judy with snake venom in order to prevent her from following him in his schemes, Pawbert subdues Gary and throws him out onto the cold ledges of the Tundratown-Sahara Square Climate Wall, stealing his anti-venom pen from the fanny pack so he can not heal Judy. It is not until Pawbert ambushes Nick Wilde on the edge of the wall that it begins to fall apart and Pawbert drops the pen. It slides down to the very end of the edge, where Nick attempts to sacrifice himself at Gary's word to retrieve it and toss it down to the room where he and Judy were being obtained by the police. After healing Judy once again, and after she and Gary save Nick from falling off the wall, Gary takes the anti-venom pen back and goes to heal Nibbles Maplestick—who also got poisoned by Pawbert—while Nick and Judy finally reconcile and confront their issues with each other. This is the last we see of the anti-venom pen being used.
Trivia[]
- Not most auto-injectors or anti-venom pens have a custom design, but Gary's anti-venom pen is designed to look like a blue snake just like him.
- The pen was voiced by Auli'i Cravalho, who had previously voiced Moana in the 2016 film of the same name and its 2024 sequel.
