俺の理解するところ、持続可能性、というのは、究極のとこ地球のリソースは有限に決まっているのだから、それを使い潰さず、人類が恒久的に存続し発展していける可能性を残している状態ということだ。
俺はその究極目標は気に入っている。人類が無限の未来までその足跡を残せるよう、俺たちは最大限努力すべきだろう。それが先祖と子孫と、人類が見つけてきたすべての叡智のために、現在の我々ができることだ。
6、7、8、9、11、12、13、14、15あたりはわかる。
公衆衛生、エネルギー持続性、経済と雇用、産業と都市のインフラ、マテリアルリサイクル、気候変動対策、生物多様性……
1、2、3、10、16もまあわかる。貧困だの飢餓だのを放っておくと人間が死ぬし、社会がある程度公正でないと戦争が起きたりする。
俺が意味わからんと思うのは、4と5だ。高い教育とジェンダー平等だ。これが人類の持続可能性に資するかどうか、まだ誰もわからなくないか？
いやもろちん、高い教育、ジェンダー平等、まことに結構だ。やったら良い。より良い社会のために、是非とも必要なことだ。
だがこれ、持続可能な開発目標か？？こいつら無理やりねじ込まれてないか？？
もちろんすべての目標は未だ人類社会で達成されてないことばかりだが、それにしたって、この4と5が持続可能な社会を作れるかは不明すぎやしないか？

また、正直なところ、俺は特にジェンダー問題については、このままやって本当に大丈夫か？と思ってもいる。
率直に言って、ここまでの人類の存続は、男女の役割という苛烈な人権制限の上に成り立ってるんじゃないだろうか？
特に女だ。狩猟の時代が終わって男の肉体の役割はずいぶんマシになったと言えるだろうが、女の肉体は相変わらずとんでもない無理をして次の世代を作っている。
こんな状況では、ジェンダー平等なんてのは土台無理な話なんではないかと思っている。
何万年前と同じように、俺たちは女たちの本能に期待する以外に種としての持続可能性を持っていない。

多分飲み切ることはできるが・・・
そういう人は多いと思う。英英辞典の解説を丸暗記しようとしても覚えられない、1つの単語に途方もない時間がかかる。
簡単な英語は和訳せずに読めるが、なおかつ英英辞典を使うのをあきらめた人はこれを見て、実践して欲しい。
まず、理解とは**「知っている言葉に言い換えられる」ということだ。
そして、知っているとは、イメージで想起できること。体験したこと。
なので、英英辞典に書かれている「take」や「food」などの中1レベルの単語は「知っている」必要がある。
そのためにまず、調べた言葉が動詞か名詞か区別する必要がある。
例として、nourishmentという単語を上げてみたい。
nourishmentを調べるとこうだ。
noun
nounと書かれているので、名詞。そしてこの文章の中で言い換えられる名詞を探す。
大体初めに書かれている、若しくは主語。この場合、「the food」がそれにあたる。
そして、「nourishment=food」なのだと理解する。
ぶっちゃけこれだけ覚えてればいい。そして、これから文章の中に「nourishment」がでてきたら「food」に変換する。
そして、「necessary for growth, health, and good condition」の後の説明は流し読みしとけばいい。「necessary for health」くらいうっすらと覚えておくだけで、意味が通じるようになる。
上記の方法が通用しなかった、2回検索しないといけない場合、すぐに日本語で検索する。
なぜなら1つの単語を覚えるのに精いっぱいなのに、2個も3個も覚えられないからだ。
たとえば、organic compoundと調べると以下が出てくる。
a compound (= a chemical that combines two or more elements) containing carbon
名詞がa compoundしかない(正確に言うとcarbonもだけど、形容詞句の一部のため除外)。
確かに、containing carbonしてる何か、とか考えることもできるけれど、言い換える言葉がとっとと見つからないだけで十分ストレスなので「有機化合物」と日本語で覚えておく。
という風に英英辞書を使えるようになると、英語を英語のまま理解できるし語彙の理解力も数も増えていく。
基本的に、
で覚えよう。人間は曖昧な情報は覚えらえるが、正確な情報は1つ覚えるので精いっぱいだ。

遊び / ゲームがうまい奴が頭がいい / 仕事もできる理由は3つある気がする。
まず、子供の習い事についていったり、子供と同じ習い事をしたりして思うのが、吸収力の違いみたいなものだな。
同じものを見てどれだけ気づけるか、習ったことをその場でどれだけ自分のものにできるかがやはり年齢が上がると上昇するのを感じる。
勘がいい子は年齢が低くても先生がやって見せたのをすっとまねできるし、指摘されたとおりにすぐに直していける。
もちろん、平均的には年齢が上がるほどその能力は上がるので、年齢が高い子供のほうがさっさと級をあげていく。
同じ習い事をすると、自分が気になる細部を子供は全く見ていないし、再現もできないということに気づかされる。
疑問にも思わないので、そこを明らかにもしないし、先生もわざわざ聞かれもしないことを教えてはくれない。
「一隅いちぐうを挙あげて三隅を以って反かえらざれば、則ち復またせざる也なり」みたいなやつだろうな。
子供のころ、大人はさっさと段級が上がってずるいと思っていたが、その差はこれなのかと実感する。
もう一つは、growth mindsetとfixed mindsetみたいな差がある気がする。
growth mindsetの持ち主は今いるところをいつも通過点だと思っているし、結果は現在のスナップショットだと思っている。
ゲームでも、一つ一つの試合は単なる通過点だから、それを俯瞰して見て、どこでどうやって失敗したか、次はどうやれば成功するかを考えられる。
負けたことそのものよりも、どうやって負けたかを見て、どうやったら次に勝てるようになるのかを考えることも楽しみの一つになっている。
言うなれば、遊びの時も、仮説を立てて、検証する作業を楽しんでいるのかもしれない。
一方、fixed mindsetの持ち主は負けるのが恥だと思い、なぜ負けたか反芻するのを避けるので、同じ失敗を何度もする。
結局、自分で負けパターンに気づかないし、教えられることも拒絶するから今いるところで止まってしまい、それ以上のレベルにはなれない。
結果、growth mindsetの持ち主のスタートラインがずっと後ろだったとしても、fixed mindsetの持ち主をいつかは追い抜いてしまう。
あと一つは、継続できるかどうかだろうな。
別の言い方をするなら、努力できるかみたいな要素だろうな。
人の能力はある程度反復練習をして頭の中のネットワークが完成してきてからやっとステージが上がるものだと思う。
言い換えると、できることは階段状に上がっていくと思うので、ちょっとやったところですぐに結果が出なかったりする。
特に体を使うものは今のレベルの動きを地道に何度も繰り返して体が自然とその動きをできるようになってやっとそのレベルに達し、次のレベルが見えるようになる。
勉強ができる奴はその辺の成功体験を持っているから、遊びであっても地道な反復練習ができる。
結果、次のレベルまで行ける。
