NGC 157 (MCG -2-2-56)是鲸鱼座的一個星系。星等為10.4，赤經為34分46.4秒，赤緯為-8°23'46"。

1783年12月13日，弗里德里希·威廉·赫歇爾發現NGC 157。

NGC 157星系已經發生過兩次超新星事件。第一顆超新星2009em於2009年5月5日被發現，位於星系核心以西約34″、以南約10″處^[8]，被確定為一顆Ic型超新星^[9]。

2022年5月5日，NGC 157中觀測到Ic型超新星SN 2022jli，峰值星等達到14.4等^[10]。
