User:WikiCantona/名空位提議
I hereby to propose using the space to replace all the “.” in the current naming format, and adding space to separate the given and surname for the dual naming formats currently used by the Cantonese Wikipedia for translated name:
- This is generally speaking. When the name is translated, it is in the original order - but for some countries, it is SurenameGivenname order.
Proposal
[編輯]Use only Name_Name format for all title. That is: 卜 戴倫 and 鴉倫 獲加
Naming format Vs. Translating convention
[編輯]The Naming format is about how the name is written in title or in the content of the article. Translating convention, as being how foreign sound should translate into Cantonese, is out of the scope of this proposal.
Current Situation
[編輯]There is an agreement allowing both format to co-exit as a preference of the author who starts the article.
Why
[編輯]This idea is coming for the name format of Korean Wikipedia (e.g. ko:밥_딜런). In Cantonese has to go on her own road, we should be just following the old format convention as 2. for old Hong Kong Cantonese and 1. for the Chinese and Taiwan format, copying directly from Japanese. The short coming for the first one is that we do not know the separation between given and surename. The second being adding something nameless, meaningless and soundless in the text (not to mention it is difficult to type).
粵文維基要行自己條路!文章命名都用我哋嗰套!1. 係家陣中國同台灣嘅用法。2. 好耐用法,香港重有用。
Future
[編輯]All human name can be used this method. That includes all Chinese, Japanese names. In fact, the Japanese has this convention, namely putting the space between the sureman and given name (e.g. 黑 澤明, 野比 大雄) . We could adopt this convention to apply to all names. Chinese Name like 張國榮 could become "張 國榮". 柯德莉夏萍 could become "柯德莉 夏萍". Therefore, all names regardless their nationality using only one convention.
