XF 2.3 Slow Page Loads On One Site, For One User

I have one user who is reporting slow page load times (upwards of 15-20 seconds at times), but only on one of my sites. I have another site on the same server that she reports is working just fine. She also reports that all other sites work just fine for her, including other sites running on XF. No other users have reported this issue on any of my sites, and I've never had any issues myself.

I'm guessing it's some kind of Cloudflare issue, but why would that affect her on only one site? I've checked all her permissions and also that she wasn't "discouraged". I've checked the site on multiple page speed sites (PageSpeed, GTMetrix, Pingdom, Dotcom-tools). I selected Great Britain/London on all the sites where it was an option, as that's where she's located. They all report good results/scores.

Any ideas what else the issue could be here? I've been racking my brain on this one for over a week now and I'm coming up empty.

there are addons. but you can probably just ask the user if they are ok with it. and then change their password. and login in a browser with the new password. after doing your tests, just send them a reset password mail to change it back. at least that's what i would do in a situation like this.

I've checked all their permissions, and groups, and there's nothing that I've seen that's any different from anyone else on the site. That said, it could be worth trying just to make absolutely certain it's not that in case I've missed a setting. At least that would lead me more in the right direction.

yeah. this is the fastest way to debug things. you get to see if performance matches between your own account and their account under same conditions.
Just sent her a DM to get her permission to do this, so hopefully she'll be ok with it and I can get that checked soon. I'll report back here if I'm able to find anything wrong.

In the meantime, if anyone else has anything else I can check, please, I'm all ears (or eyes, or whatever)!

Just as an update, I was able to log in to her account (with her permission), and I didn't experience any issues while browsing the site. I'm assuming it's something that's network related, but how is it possible that it only affects her connecting to this single site and not another site on the same server, both using Cloudflare, when nobody else has an issue?

Thank you, but I don't think that would help with my issue. The site works perfectly fine for every other user.

I would get the member to try some of the following if possible...
  • clear their browser cache (ideally just for your site)
  • temporarily turn off all their security, antivirus, firewall etc.
  • try a different browser
  • try a different device
  • perform a tracert to your site and get them to send you the result
  • perform a waterfall test and get them to send you the result

Cloudflare has some mangy peering-problems with some providers. Does the user has a (German) Telekom-account?

Yeah, I'd love to do all of that but this particular member is not tech savvy at all. I asked for a screenshot of the "loading" screen, and she sent me a picture she took with her phone, and had to have her son help do that. So, yeah, I may try some of these but I'm definitely not walking her through a tracert or a way to send me the waterfall.

She does not. She's on British Telecommunications.
