Continuing strategies to enhance diversity, equity and inclusion.
We are particularly committed to continuing and further developing strategies to enhance diversity and inclusion on a long-term basis, including in the leadership ranks.
Our Executive Committee is 42% women or diverse and includes our Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer (U.S.-based members). Over the last five years, our partnership classes have averaged approximately 39% women and 28% diverse attorneys in the U.S.
The Diversity and Inclusion Committee and Women’s Professional Development Committee (“WPDC”) work together to foster an inclusive Willkie community that has long celebrated the diverse backgrounds and perspectives of attorneys at our firm.
The Diversity and Inclusion Committee has existed for approximately 30 years and remains an important focus of firm leadership. The Committee, chaired by Kim Walker, Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer, Intellectual Property partner and member of the firm’s Executive Committee, develops, implements and oversees the firm’s mentoring, training and other initiatives focused on the recruitment, retention and advancement of our women and diverse attorneys.
