Motivation

[edit]

Rutube is the Russian equivalent of YouTube. It has an online broadcast of most Russian federal TV channels. The service was launched in 2006 - a year before the YouTube interface became available in Russian. However, the Russian YouTube never became popular, unlike its worldwide counterpart.
