End zone dances, going to Disneyland, pouring Gatorade on your coach? These are the sports victory rituals of a dead world. Today, all the best (and most online) athletes celebrate a big win with a big TikTok. After winning Gold for the women’s all-around gymnastics final, Simone Biles and Suni Lee immediately started talking Tok Strat. The NBC cameras caught it all. Biles said she wanted to pose “chomping on the gold medals,” and Lee wanted to use the sound that’s like “Imagine what we would do if we didn’t win.” Both girls seem very stoked on their choices. And the videos are doing numbers! Apparently what Biles meant by “chomping” was a sound of someone crunching down hard on something. Originally an ASMR video of eating celery, the sound has now been transformed into a symbol of athletic glory. Also to celebrate a Hello Kitty backpack, we’ve seen that too.
