Baidu X-Lab BoF: From Memory Safety to AI Security
Thursday, August 16, 7:30 pm–8:30 pm, Grand Ballroom I-IV
Beer, wine, soft drinks and snacks provided
Speaker: Yunhan Jia
Working with Baidu X-Lab is fun and challenging. We have security experts with a wide range of skill sets dealing with all sorts of security problems. In this Bird of a Feather event, we would like to introduce our recent efforts to enforce Memory Safety. We advocate the following design principles: 1) Unsafe components MUST NOT taint safe component, especially for public APIs and data structures; 2) Unsafe components should be as small as possible and DECOUPLED from safe components; 3) Unsafe components should be explicitly marked during deployment and ready to be upgraded. At the same time, we also would like to introduce another fun work dealing with adversarial deep learning within Autonomous Driving scenario. Join us if you would like to find out how the vision-based deep learning model is easily fooled.
