ek barahman ne kaha hai ki ye sal achchha hai
mah-washon zohra-jabinon ka KHayal achchha hai
yani bite hue mazi se ye haal achchha hai
sar-phiron ke liye ulfat ka wabaal achchha hai
jitne arman hain sine mein nikal achchha hai

raat bhar zehn isi fikr mein hairan raha
teri zulfon ki tarah main bhi pareshan raha
dil mein ek dard ka chaDhta hua tufan raha
KHali-KHali sa KHayalat ka gul-dan raha
dasht-e-hasrat mein bahut der pareshan raha

koi taKHliq koi sher koi nazm-o-ghazal
koi guldasta-e-afkar KHayalon ka mahal
koi naghma koi KHushbu koi yaadon ka kanwal
koi taswir koi KHat koi uDta baadal
