aage pichhe kul jadidi the qatar-andar-qatar
gungunate git gate 'bekal' utsahi chale
tanziya ashaar kahte 'furqat'-o-'wahi' chale
yunhi sare mulk se kul sha'iran-e-har-zaban
su-e-manzil chal paDe le le ke apni Toliyan
sal-bhar mein shairon se mulk KHali ho gaya
inKHila un ka mukammal aur misali ho gaya
aam taKHmine ke ru se un ki tadad-o-shumar
tul-o-arz-e-mulk mein thi do karoD iksaTh hazar

kuchh masail hal hue kuchh masale paida hue
uTh gai jab mulk se ashaar-sazon ki baraat
kuchh ghizai mushkilon se qaum ne pai najat

zor shorish ka ghaTa sarkar mustahkam hui
family mansuba-bandi ki zarurat ghaT gai
