اب فقط غم سے آشنائی ہے

چوٹ الفت میں ایسی کھائی ہے

غم زمانے کے دے دیے اس نے

کتنی ظالم تری جدائی ہے

ان سے امید کیا وفاؤں کی

جن کا شیوہ ہی بے وفائی ہے

سجدہ کرنے پہ بھی ہے پابندی

حسن جاناں تری دہائی ہے

بات ہم سے کریں نہ وہ پروازؔ

بات سننے میں کیا برائی ہے

ab faqat gham se aashnai hai
choT ulfat mein aisi khai hai

gham zamane ke de diye us ne
kitni zalim teri judai hai

un se ummid kya wafaon ki
jin ka shewa hi bewafai hai

sajda karne pe bhi hai pabandi
husn-e-jaanan teri duhai hai

baat hum se karen na wo 'parwaz'
baat sunne mein kya burai hai
