یہ نہیں پہلے تری یاد سے نسبت کم تھی

یہ نہیں پہلے تری یاد سے نسبت کم تھی

ماجرا یہ تھا کہ احساس میں شدت کم تھی

کس لیے چھین لیا تو نے غزالوں کا سکون

اس خرابے کے لیے کیا مری وحشت کم تھی

ویسے بھی اس سے کوئی ربط نہ رکھا میں نے

یوں بھی دنیا میں کشش تیری بہ نسبت کم تھی

تیرے کردار کو اتنا تو شرف حاصل ہے

تو نہیں تھا تو کہانی میں حقیقت کم تھی

ہم تو اس وقت بھی روشن تھے کسی گوشے میں

جب زمانے کو چراغوں کی ضرورت کم تھی

ye nahin pahle teri yaad se nisbat kam thi
majra ye tha ki ehsas mein shiddat kam thi

kis liye chhin liya to ne ghazalon ka sukun
is KHarabe ke liye kya meri wahshat kam thi

waise bhi us se koi rabt na rakkha main ne
yun bhi duniya mein kashish teri ba-nisbat kam thi

tere kirdar ko itna to sharaf hasil hai
tu nahin tha to kahani mein haqiqat kam thi

hum to us waqt bhi raushan the kisi goshe mein
jab zamane ko charaghon ki zarurat kam thi
