عتیق احمد

کھلے ہیں پھول اسی رنگ کی ستائش میں

جو بے مثال رہا آپ اپنی تابش میں

وہ ایک دن ہی مری زندگی کا حاصل ہے

کہ میرے پاس کوئی رک گیا تھا بارش میں

بس ایک جھیل ہے اور پیڑ کا گھنا سایا

سلگ رہے ہیں کئی لوگ جن کی خواہش میں

کبھی ہوا جو کہیں پر غزل سرا میں بھی

تو میرے یار جلے ہیں حسد کی آتش میں

میں جس کو سوچتا رہتا ہوں رات دن احمدؔ

اسی نے رنگ بھرے ہیں مری نگارش میں

khile hain phul usi rang ki sataish mein
jo be-misal raha aap apni tabish mein

wo ek din hi meri zindagi ka hasil hai
ki mere pas koi ruk gaya tha barish mein

bas ek jhil hai aur peD ka ghana saya
sulag rahe hain kai log jin ki KHwahish mein

kabhi hua jo kahin par ghazal-sara main bhi
to mere yar jale hain hasad ki aatish mein

main jis ko sochta rahta hun raat-din 'ahmad'
usi ne rang bhare hain meri nigarish mein
