Hazrat Abdul Qadir Jilani was a Sufi Saint and a great Islamic scholar. He was born in Gilan, Iraq. He studied Hanbali law and hadith in Baghdad after basic education from Gilan. He preached Islam and many Jews and Christians followed his teachings. Later, he died on 11 Rabi Al Thani. The followers of Hazrat Abdul Qadir Jilani observe 11 Rabi Al Thani as his death anniversary each year and call it Gyarvi Sharif.
