Partners in Education
Success at a university begins well before a student’s freshman year. The University of Michigan-Flint is proud to partner with school districts across Southeastern Michigan to provide unique opportunities for K-12 students. From our innovative, groundbreaking dual enrollment programs to exciting events, UM-Flint faculty and staff work collaboratively with teachers and administrators to offer these unique programs to youth in the state. The results of these rich partnerships are students who are academically prepared for the rigor of higher education.

Application & Submission Deadline
Dual enrollment applications are available in each high school guidance office. You may also print a copy of the DEEP application. Check with your guidance office for the deadline date. To receive full consideration, the application must be completed, signed (parent and student signature required) and dated to your high school guidance office.
The DEEP initiative allows motivated students to earn college credit by taking accredited courses taught by UM-Flint faculty. DEEP will do exactly what its name implies: deepen the student’s knowledge and understanding of course material while providing in-depth college courses that will prepare them for college and university academic expectations.
High School Research Program for Summer 2025 Interest Form
Announcing the 2025 UM-Flint Summer High School Research Program! This exciting, selective research opportunity in computing is designed for high school students interested in hands-on experience and academic advancement. Participants may earn potential credit toward UM-Flint and possibly beyond. Please complete the interest form and join our email list to stay updated on program details and receive the application link available in early January. Don’t miss this chance to explore computing research and get a head start on your academic journey!
Summer Entrepreneurship Institute
The Summer Entrepreneurship Institute will assist participants interested in business and entrepreneurship in deciding whether to pursue this path in college. The program will engage students in life-changing sessions, giving them a feel for the field.
