We work on measures within the fields of education, research, and operations to give our students green expertise, find solutions to the major challenges facing society, and reduce UiO’s climate footprint.
What does sustainability mean to UiO?
Sustainable transition is about securing the basis of life for humans and other species – currently and in the future. To achieve that, we need to know the planetary boundaries and what it takes to create sustainable societies.
Comprehensive Climate and Environmental Strategy
The Comprehensive Climate and Environmental Strategy for UiO outlines goals for education, research, communication, green campus, and organisation.
Action plan for climate and environmental work
The action plan details how we will reach our goals, and is revised annually.
Climate accounts
UiO aims to halve greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 compared to emissions in 2018. The climate accounts show how we are progressing in the different categories.
The Sustainability Hub
UiO wishes to strengthen interdisciplinary research and teaching within the fields of climate, environment, and sustainability by establishing a Sustainability Hub on campus.
Green Office
Green Office is an arena for students and employees who have ideas and input on how UiO, as both a place of study and work, can become more sustainable.
