Donna Jean Alcorn Goddard Donna Jean Alcorn “Goddard” was called home Sunday June 30th, 2024 at 2:17am to be with her husband, and her lord and savior. Donna Jean was born a twin, to Alice and Grandville “Clyde” Alcorn on November 5th 1934 in Sanger, Ca. Alice and Clyde moved the family to Humboldt, where Donna attended Arcata High School. Donna graduated from Arcata High School and went to work for Pacific Bell. Where she met and secured her lifelong friends. Donna and her friends met regularly for lunch dates for the next 30+ years. On June 30th 1956 she married her love Donald B. Goddard. Together they had four children. Donna loved her family, as a family they had a summertime spot at Redwood Creek. Donna dedicated her life to motherhood and 18+ yrs at Arcata Redwood Co. raising her family, including her children and grandchildren. She and son Gary owned Northbay Firewood Inc. and served our local community for years. Donna is processed into death by her husband Don, all her siblings, her parents, and most all her lunch date lady friends. One of Donna’s favorite past times was calling and checking in with her family, including daily calls that will be missed tremendously. Donna enjoyed a well groomed yard, clean house, QVC and HSN. This is where she found her favorite product Beekman’s Skin Care , she’d recommend you try it out. Donna is survived by her sons and daughters: Renee Willis and husband Earl of Ruth Lake, Ca. David Goddard of Arcata, Gary Goddard of Arcata, Susan Backman and husband Mark also of Arcata, Ca. Her grandchildren: Jennifer Lynn Backman Stone, Bobbie Lorraine Backman, Josuha Michael Backman, Cody Bennett Goddard, and Tucker jordan Labs. Also including 13 Great-grandchidern! Donna will be missed more the words can explain! A graveside service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery, 1757 J St., Arcata on Wednesday July 10 at 1 p.m. Services are under the direction of Paul’s Chapel, 1070 H St. Arcata.
