LAHORE:In line with the Punjab government's vision of Suthra Punjab, the Lahore Waste Management Company's (LWMC) teams remained engaged in the rain-related operation.
LWMC Chief Executive Officer Babar Sahib Din emphasised that, alongside cleaning operations, maintaining proper drainage was a priority during the rain. Over 5,000 LWMC waste containers were routinely cleared, and special instructions were given to remove shopping bags and wrappers from roads to facilitate water flow. Cleaning teams were active on Circular Road, Fort Road, Azam Cloth Market, and Azadi Chowk.
The clearance process also continued on Noor Jahan Road, Liberty Market, Main Boulevard Gulberg, MM Alam Road, Shadman Market, Aiwan-e-Tijarat, Beadon Road Bazaar, Temple Road, and other locations to ensure proper drainage of water. Efforts were also focused on maintaining cleanliness on Mall Road, Jail Road, Alhamra, Governor’s House, and nearby areas. All town managers were instructed to ensure 100% attendance of field workers.
