An Isabella County community service group is auctioning off kayaks, gift cards, a camping package, crafts, quilts and more at an auction in Winn next week.

The Winn Treehouse Community’s annual auction is set for Oct. 7 at 4 p.m. behind Sidney’s Judge’s Bench, where the civic group is raising money for Winn and the surrounding areas and to bring Santa to Winn, donate to many local charities and help low income families and others throughout the year.

Carri Curtis, treasurer of the Winn Treehouse Community, said other auction items include a flat top grill, beer signs, a wall projector and screen, and bird houses.

This year is the fourth that the group has held an auction in the fall to help those in need during the holidays, and it has also donated benches and a flag, and have planted flowers to brighten up the community.

Winn Treehouse Community also donates to many local charities, including the Strickler Center in Mt. Pleasant, the Winn Methodist Church Pantry, Foster Closet of Isabella County, and food and gasoline cards to be given to families with children in treatment at DeVos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids.

Their goal this year is to adopt 10 families and eight senior citizens for Christmas with food and gifts.
