Melania Trump is set to be the star of a sensational new documentary by filmmaker Brett Ratner, with Amazon Prime Video securing exclusive rights for its streaming and theatrical debut later this year.

The company revealed on Sunday that production is already underway for the film, which promises an "unprecedented behind-the-scenes look" at Melania's life, touting it as a "truly unique story."

The former First Lady, who has recently released her own memoir, is gearing up for her husband's anticipated return to office on January 20.

This latest venture adds another layer to the relationship between Amazon's Jeff Bezos and the Trump brand; back in December, Amazon contributed a whopping $1 million to Trump's inauguration events. It also announced it would stream Trump's oath-taking ceremony on Prime Video, a move valued at another million dollars.

Despite past tensions, particularly when Trump targeted Amazon during his presidency and attacked The Washington Post, owned by Bezos, there seems to be a newfound truce as Amazon and other tech behemoths warm up to the prospect of Trump's administration making a comeback.

Last December, Jeff Bezos was visibly excited about potential deregulation under a second Trump term. In October, he made the controversial decision not to allow The Washington Post to endorse a presidential candidate, leading to mass subscription cancellations and protests from veteran journalists.

Over the weekend, a cartoonist quit after her sketch depicting media executives kowtowing to the president-elect was rejected by an editor. The film also marks Brett Ratner's first directorial venture since facing allegations at the onset of the #MeToo movement in November 2017, reports the Mirror.

Ratner, known for directing the Rush Hour series, Red Dragon, and 'X-Men: The Last Stand,' has denied the allegations through his attorney. Argentine filmmaker Fernando Sulichin is executive producing the film, which started shooting in December.

Melania Trump has been an enigmatic figure since her husband announced his 2016 candidacy. Despite being first lady, she prioritized her privacy, focusing on raising their son Barron and promoting her Be Best initiative for children's wellbeing.

Although she appeared at her husband's 2024 campaign launch event and attended the closing night of the Republican National Convention this summer, she has largely stayed away from the campaign trail. However, if she becomes first lady again, she may need to adopt a higher public profile after Inauguration Day.
