North Carolina girl, 4, left 'severely malnourished' after mom fails to feed her solid foods for six months
The girl was found badly malnourished at the home in Charlotte, North Carolina, with the mom allegedly admitting she hadn't properly fed the four-year-old for half a year
A North Carolina mom has been accused of failing to feed her four-year-old daughter any solid foods for six months, resulting in the child becoming "severely malnourished."
Sarah Weber, 28, has been charged with child neglect with serious bodily injury, according to court records. A warrant states that police visited Weber's Charlotte home on Saturday and discovered the malnourished girl.
Weber informed authorities that her daughter had been suffering from diarrhea for about a month and hadn't consumed any solid food for half a year, according to the warrant.

In addition to this, Weber is accused of not taking her child to see a doctor during this period.
"This led to the minor child to be severely malnourished [which] was confirmed by a doctor," the warrant stated. "Due to the severity of the malnutrition, the minor child was admitted to the hospital for further evaluation."
Weber was then taken into custody and transported to the Mecklenburg County Jail, where she is being held on a $25,000 bond.
The owner of the house where Weber resides confirmed to Charlotte ABC affiliate WSOC that she is indeed the mom of the malnourished four year old.
Neighbor Jacqueline Wade told the news outlet that she saw three police cars outside the house, followed by an ambulance. "It's definitely very saddening, right? ," she said.
"So you could be in close proximity to someone and not know the extent of suffering."
Weber is due back in court on Monday. Court documents do not list an attorney for her.
The warrant does not provide any information about what happened to the child.
This comes after a 12-year-old boy suffered horror injuries when his friends poured boiling water on his face during a sleepover.
The youngster is recovering in hospital from severe second-degree burns following the nightmare incident in Tifton, Georgia. He had gone to a friend’s home to stay over and play video games. But while he was sleeping, the other kids allegedly threw the scalding water at his face.
Three minors, who are between 12 and 15, are now facing charges for inflicting the nasty wounds. One of the victim’s friends claimed it was intended as a ‘prank’.
The badly burned boy’s mom, Tiffany West, who is keeping his name anonymous, said she was furious following the tragedy. She told KCTV 5: “I mean, I really can’t describe it now. In that moment, I was just mad, hurt, in shock, everything. I was seeing red. I was just trying to hurry up and get him some help.”
She said her son needed to have surgery due to the severity of his injuries, which are expected to take weeks to heal. She added: “He was transported to the burn center in Augusta. He had to have surgery. Of course, he is out of surgery and is recovering at home now, but it is going to take him 12 to 14 days to heal.”

The boy’s aunt, Nachelle, said it was frightening that his friends were capable of hurting the child in such a barbaric way. She told KCTV 5: “You got to be in shock to know your friends are capable of doing this to you, somebody you trusted. It’s just horrible. He never thought something like this would happen to him.”
