Most of us know by now that plants are trending. We hope its a trend that never ends! You get a whole step by step video in this DIY plant stand tutorial from ‘Handmade Haven‘. She walks you through every detail on how to build a plant stand with an a-frame that can be used indoors, or on a covered porch or patio. The trays for each tier of this stand are painted with chalk paint, and look like ceramic even though they are made of wood. And there is plenty of room on this stand for multiple plant pets!

 

DIY Mid Century Plant Stand

Mid century modern is trending, no doubt, and for great reason. Its a clean look with an emphasis on natural elements, perfect for your plants, right? This DIY mid century plant stand idea from ‘By Brittany Goldwyn‘ is super simple to make, and gets your plants up off the floor and looking stylish. All you need for this is some plywood (or even scrap wood!) and some small hair pin legs. Done!

 

Tall Plant Stands

Loving this minimal and simple tall plant stand tutorial from ‘The Merry Thought‘. This stand is made from inexpensive pine, but you could make it from whatever wood you choose. We love the look of pine, especially when it’s left natural. Its looks very Scandinavian!

 

Love this skinny tall plant stand from ‘A Beautiful Mess‘ for so many reasons! It’s a space saver, which is always great. It has room for several plants, and it’s super pretty! Don’t let the aluminum frame intimidate you, their tutorial has easy instructions on how to cut it and secure it to make a perfect DIY plant stand! And, they use a pre-made window box instead of having you cut and build one yourself, so this project is a timesaver too.

 

DIY Mini Plant Stand

This mini plant stand idea from ‘The Lovely Drawer‘ is a super simple project. But more than that, it is a great way to just make any plant prettier. It fits right on any tabletop, but gives a Boho vibe to your fav house plant. All you need is some balsa wood and some embroidery thread. I would love to make this with bright colored thread as well, for a little funk!

 

Ikea DIY Plant Stand Idea

Check out this awesome Ikea hack from ‘Sugar & Cloth‘. She took the Ikea plant stand, which can look a little banal and boring, and made it look high end. All she did was glue some acacia wood plates onto the existing stand. Boom. This plant stand idea you could do in less than a half hour!

 

DIY Ladder Plant Stand

Here is another one from ‘The Merry Thought‘ that we are in love with. Its minimal design would look great in any room, and the multiple tiers allows for our plant addiction to take really good hold, right? This is a space saving DIY plant stand idea that you could use indoors or outside in a covered situation.

 

Copper Plant Stand DIYs

These DIY copper plants stands from ‘Sarah Sherman Samuel‘ couldn’t be easier to make. Wire plant stands from the discount store, some copper spray paint, and some inexpensive cotton rope. Easy step by step instructions. We love that this idea straddles both Boho and modern design.

DIY Tiered Plant Stands

If you love to take your houseplants outdoors in the summer, you probably don’t want them sitting on the ground, right? Well ‘Hearth & Vine‘ has a solution for that with her outdoor plant stand DIY. She made this out of a cedar lattice she found at a home improvement store, and just added the A-frame. She has a complete tutorial for this easy to make multiple plant stand! BTW, you can use this year round for patio plants too!

 

This tiered plant stand from ‘Hydrangea Treehouse‘ is the perfect place to propagate. But you could also use it as a flower tower, a houseplant summer home, or a veggie and herb garden. She designed this project so you don’t need to own a table saw to make it, and she just used basic inexpensive lumber. Be sure to seal it with an exterior grade sealer!

 

Love this cedar DIY outdoor plant stand idea from ‘Handmade Weekly‘. She made this from a cedar fence post and pickets, so it should last, as cedar is naturally rot resistant. The free plans for this project are available at her site for download. BTW, we think this one is pretty enough to use indoors too!

 

Modern Plant Stand Idea

‘Bitterroot DIY‘ created this DIY plant stand for your deck or patio, and its meant to show off that perfect, favorite plant! (Or, make more than one to show off all your favorites!) This one is so pretty, and it would cost some big bucks to buy a planter like this. So make it instead!
