Nothing is as fun in the garden as the whimsical use of upcycled or repurposed materials for garden projects. The perfect marriage is reusing the past and bringing the wildlife of nature into your yard. History and nature just seems to go together. Maybe it’s because wherever history has been made, whether its history within a family, or within a country…nature has always been there, promising a tomorrow. Unfortunately most of the following photos came originally from websites that have disappeared from the web. We hope to update this post in the very near future with projects that have tutorials, but until then, here are some great inspirational ideas that will bring birds into the garden with DIY bird houses, DIY Bird Feeders and DIY Bird Baths, while using a touch of the past!

DIY Bird Houses

We just love the creativity that went into the design of this amazing DIY Bird House! I mean who would of thought that a cowboy boot and a license plate for a roof would make such a stunning bird house!

Another incredible idea. This one a super cute tea pot DIY bird house. Love it! It’s so cool to see these old items repurposed into something so useful.

And just look at the creativity that went into this wonderful fireman hat DIY bird house. Totally amazing!

DIY Bird Feeder

I beautiful DIY bird feeder here reusing a wine bottle from ‘The Garden Roof Coup‘. A simple design and a work of art really. Notice the wine label!

DIY Bird Bath Ideas

This is just gorgeous. Look for old colorful glassware at yard sales or at thrift stores. Glue pieces together with a strong construction adhesive and you will be amazed at what you can create. This glass DIY bird bath idea came out amazing! You can create cool bird bath fountains this way too.

I love the boot birdhouse. Is there something I need to put in the foot of the boot for the birds?
