Homemade Weed Killer Spray

  • One gallon white vinegar
  • One cup salt
  • One tablespoon dish washing liquid

I combine all these ingredients into the gallon vinegar containers, then shake really well. Pour into a spray bottle to use. This works fastest if sprayed on a sunny day. Make sure you don’t get this on vegetation you want to keep as it is not selective. It will kill almost any plant! Check out our article on natural weed killer recipes for more ideas!

Homemade Fungicide Spray

Combine 1½ teaspoons of baking soda with a teaspoon of vegetable oil and a gallon of water. Spray on your plants every 5 days for existing fungus, every 10 days as a preventative. This is great for powdery mildew, which is the most common kind of fungus that affects roses, some flowers and vegetables.

Bug Repellent Spray

Nothing spoils a day in the garden faster than flying and biting insects. Make this easy bug repellent that is safe and inexpensive.

10-20 drops essential oil

  • Lavender oil
  • Orange oil
  • Eucalyptus oil
  • Lemon or citronella oil

2 tablespoons carrier

A carrier can be a safe oil, such as olive oil or almond oil, or an alcohol based carrier such as vodka or witch hazel. Mix these together and spray or rub into skin. Reapply every couple of hours.

Try these easy homemade garden spray recipes the next time you have a bug or disease problem in your garden, and make your yard a safer place, and your pocketbook less empty!
