RFK Jr. Is Not Impressed With Trump’s Diet

On Thursday, Trump made good on his promise to let Robert F. Kennedy Jr. “go wild” on public health, tapping him to lead the Department of Health and Human Services. Considering that pretty much everything that comes out of RFK Jr.’s mouth is deeply unscientific, fear-mongering, and sometimes racist, his appointment raises all sorts of questions, like what exactly he plans to do about the vaccines he hates so much and whether he really wants to take fluoride out of public water. There are also some lower-stakes questions, like, What does RFK Jr., staunch critic of processed junk and seed oil, think of Trump’s famously greasy diet?

That one, at least, we have the answer to. In a live recording of The Joe Polish Show published Tuesday — before his shiny new position was officially announced — RFK Jr. said the “stuff” Trump puts in his body is “really, like, bad.” He called the offerings on Trump’s private jet “just poison,” claiming that “you’re either given KFC or Big Macs. That’s when you’re lucky and then the rest of the stuff I consider kind of inedible.”

Kennedy also shared that UFC CEO Dana White, who’s known Trump for 20 years, recently told him he’s “never seen Trump drink a glass of water,” which I guess makes sense for a guy who reportedly downs 12 Diet Cokes a day.

Something tells me RFK Jr. has only seen the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Trump’s eating habits — his former campaign manager once said that during his first presidency, Trump would not eat for 14 hours and then rip through two Big Macs, two Filet-o-Fish sandwiches, and a chocolate shake. Do you think he is about to give any of that up for detox smoothies and salmon bowls? I don’t think so.

Personally, I am choosing to see this development as a positive: In my fantasy, while Elon Musk overstays his welcome at Mar-a-Lago, RFK Jr. won’t stop intercepting the president’s precious Mickey D’s deliveries. How could this go wrong? Plus if there’s one thing that can unite Trump and liberal women, it’s defending our right to Diet Coke.
