Personally, I love their fluffy butts. Call me weird. I had chickens in Maine - so much fun...we had all different breeds, but all were feathered down the legs...one looked exactly like rod stewart. No, really. Same hairdo. She didn't sing as well. The roosters were exiled to a friend's farm, as soon as we could pick them out. I did not find 4am reveille when the bathroom light came on amusing. At all.

I love the chickens and keep thinking I'll buy some but at my age and health issues I try not to do anything my kids will have to clean up when I'm gone. So, I'll just enjoy yours. You had a very productive day with two vids going at once. You could start a store where we would click on an icon and order boots, rings, fellas, chicken coops. You seriously could make a mint. It sure worked for Martha what's her name, didn't it? You are cuter, funnier and I'm sure much nicer to your staff named Karen than she is to hers if you pay attention to gossip or a movie made about her life. Dang, we can star as your fans in the movie and cheer when you come on the set that looks like an upscale nicely landscaped chicken yard. Honey, I am all over this. Shall I work up a prospctus for the investors? Well, maybe not just yet but soon I'm sure. Why did that fan say that your sheet folding vid was not funny? Evidently mirth is in the eye of the beholder or whatever it is they say. I think it's one of your finest moments. I know you rehearsed it for weeks to get it down to that level of humor. Ok, I'm babbling so I'll go to bed but get back to me on the movie deal. Meanwhile think up a name for it.

Gayla - We will call it "The Show That Karen is in. Usually. Unless She's Busy."

This was great! It made my day. Lame I know, but there's something about chickens that are so comical and amusing.
Karen
Keith - Nothing lame about it. Every single person who "meets" the chickens is mesmerized by them. It's weird! But not lame. ~ karen

Hey Karen, I saw this and thought you might like it!

Hi Kim! Someone else sent me a similar pic long ago but I'd forgotten about it. Thx. I would have forgotten about it entirely and I'd like to try to make one! ~ karen

Haha! Great video. I love your chickens.Love this series. Keep it coming. I also like your boots. Nice! I also liked your shoes from your previous sheet folding video.
Karen
Thanks! The sheet video boots are Michael Kors. I love them! - k

This has become my absolute favorite part of your blog Karen. It's kind of like what I go through with my kids at every meal, only waaaaaaaaay more fun. More! More! More!

SO funny! I love your "Will They Eat It" series... It's like a car wreck, I just can't look away!

Drill a hole through a head of cabbage, run a rope through the hole, and hang it just over their heads. Food and aerobics.

I have a family member who could probably do a similar video series with her kids. They eat and drink the weirdest stuff, but won't touch what I consider to be 'normal' or predictable.

The "Will It Blend?" series of videos on the internet convinced me to purchase a Blendtec blender. Wonderful device, although I've resisted the urge to destroy golf balls, rake handles, etc. in it.
If the "Will They Eat It?" series prompts me to purchase chickens, my spouse may take away my laptop ...

SO FUNNY!!! I watched it three times! Posted it to my facebook! Love it!

Easter is coming! You should see if they'll eat a MARSHMALLOW PEEP!!!
Karen
Hah! I'll have to try to remember that! I got these hens as day old chicks on Easter morning you know! ~ karen
Nancy
Ha..so funny..I was eating a banana when I started the video..I did guess that they would eat it..I like the way you sort of "round them up" to go back in the coop..this is lots of fun Karen..keep them coming..
Amanda
Thank you for the chicken fix! I just discovered - to my horror - that the area of the house we're building won't allow me to keep a coop. I don't think they understand my Araucana needs.
I may need to smuggle some in.
In the meantime, I'm glad to have your lovelies to watch, and a farmer's market for tasty eggs.
Jake
The chickens (or hens ?) will "poke their eye out" on that nail. Can you please come up with a different delivery thingy. How hard can that be for someone with your brainpower :) I worry for the chickens/hens, whatever.
Karen
Jake - They really won't. Not to worry. ~ karen
Marie
Karen, it looks like you have a very promising career on the other side of the camera! How long did it actually take for them to eat the whole banana?
Karen
Thanks Marie. Mmm ... probably took them ... 2 minutes or so. If that. They're pretty quick to demolish a banana. ~ karen
Sara
This is the best thing I've seen since "The Artist"!! Can't wait to show my kids.
Trissi V.
Well, your chickens and my kitty, Chablis, have one thing in common...they both like bananas.
