It's time for another episode of the much beloved series Will They Eat it?! Today's food was requested by "Holly".
Maybe they will, maybe they won't. They're chickens. There's no predicting.
Will They Eat it - Pickle
Will my chickens eat a dill pickle?
On the next episode Norma discovers something on a stick, Walnut wanders around, Cuddles acts cute and Cheez Whiz gets asked to the prom.
If you missed them, you can also watch Episode 1 of Will They Eat it. And then Episode 2, and Episode 3.
judy
ya gotta hand it to them...they each tried one bite! give them another 7 years and they'll probably like them!
Debra
Can you get them to eat onion?
Karen
Debra - No. You can't feed chickens onions because onions are so strong it'll come out in the eggs and be noticeable. ~ k!
anna
love it! your chickens are looking very plump and happy!!
candace
This show should be syndicated :)
Dana
ugh. you get me every time. the first 10 seconds are so silent, i think my computer volume is broken. then i turn up the speakers to full blast wondering why it's not working. just to have my ears blasted with "WILL THEY EAT IT!!!"
and it's still my favorite part of these episodes.
Karen
Dana - The fella will be happy to HEAR THAT. ~ karen

I've got to tell you I have been looking into some baby chickens. I live in Florida so really doing some research with our heat and humidity, etc. I bought a magazine about chickens and one of the ads was for chicken saddles....okay, now I am very polish and gullible and wat was the first thought I had in my brain after seeing the pic of the chickens with these colored rubber saddles on their backs??.?.....yes, that thought was...."who would ride a chicken"!?&. Then I read further that it keeps birds of prey...or bigger than chickens from picking them up and carrying them off...maybe I'm not ready yet...who would ride a chicken....sheesh!
Amy
I understand. Well then, is there any chance you can teach them to sing?
Karen
Probably. ~ karen
Amy
When I was in college I worked summers in the education dept. of a zoo. We had a green parrot that would dive bomb you if you had fried chicken in the office, the little cannibal. (He would also sing "Around the World in 80 Days" every time you put him in a car, but I digress.)
So all this to ask, "Will they eat chicken (fried or otherwise) or even scrambled eggs"? Is that too awful to ask for a future episode?
Karen
Amy - Chickens are indeed carnivores and will eat meat. They love it. However, my chickens are vegetarian chickens so they don't get any meat. Which is strange since I'm not a vegetarian. Can't stand the thought of feeding them meat for some reason. So ... chickens will eat chicken. And eggs. They love eggs. Which is a bad thing because once they get into the habit of breaking their shells and eating their own raw eggs, it's pretty tough to break it. The egg habit. Not the shells. ~ karen
Krikit
I must be SOooo easily amused! Not only did I LOL! at the entire chicken vid, but I found darned near everything everybody else said to be hilarious! ~;D
Karen
Maybe you're drunk. Have you been drinking? Or on a sugar high maybe. Or ... you could be punch drunk. Are you sleepy? Wait! No! You're probably just easily amused. ~ karen!
Krikit
I'll admit to all of the above. ~;0)

Didn't know I had the volume on 'high' at first so the introductory "Will they eat it" ended up being scary-funny. Love the scary-funny. Thanks for another hilarious episode. Not many people could make chickens so funny!
Pat
Oooo, your chickens look so cute and fluffy, they're like feathered cats! I love how they trust you and come a'running when you have something for them to eat (or experiment with). What's life without a few interesting food items to peck at? Karen is a good mom!

This time I was expectiong the fella and was braced in my chair so I didn't jump so high I fell out like last time. Just got the cast off so didn't want that to happen again. I do believe this is the first time I've ever seen a chicken pucker. I didn't know they could squish their little beaks up like that. Knowing chickens well, as I do, I could read that look and honey, you are in big trouble. I don't know when and I don't know how but they will get you for this. I noticed you didn't post the audio part. Didn't want us to know what they called you, right? Just goes to show what a boring life I lead that I can get all excited when I see the post is going to be, "Will They Eat It?" I gotta get out more or something. LOLOLOL You is soooo funny!
Karen
Thank you ma'am. I'm not sure if it's a coincidence but the chickens haven't been laying very well since the pickle incident. ~ karen

OMG. Toooooooooo funny! I love those Karen. They're priceless! Thanks for the roaring laughter you gave me!
Lisa
Perhaps they were too lady-like for the dink-like plating arrangement? Just sayin'. ;)
Krikit
LOLOL~ ~:D SOooo Canadian of you. ~:0)
(Responded in the wrong place above -- Sorry!)
Holly
Thank GOD!!! It's been bugging me. You saved me from having to take a concealed pickle in to a chicken hatchery.
Amy in StL
That's awesome! Especially the evil eye one of the girls gives you. What about Dill Pickle flavored chips? (Or are you not a sharer?)
J9
Shoot, I really thought they'd double back and give it a second chance. You just really can never tell with the ladies I suppose.
Jamiek
I so look forward to these! Thanks for my morning laugh!!
Ann Marie Bridge
Were you hoping they would eat it so they would lay pickled eggs? lol
Jen
LOL! I was thinking the same thing!
Krikit
LOLOL! ~:D
susan Preston
Sure, but what about dill pickle chips?
