It's time for another episode of the much beloved series Will They Eat it?! Today's food was requested by "Holly".
Maybe they will, maybe they won't. They're chickens. There's no predicting.
Will They Eat it - Pickle
Will my chickens eat a dill pickle?
On the next episode Norma discovers something on a stick, Walnut wanders around, Cuddles acts cute and Cheez Whiz gets asked to the prom.
If you missed them, you can also watch Episode 1 of Will They Eat it. And then Episode 2, and Episode 3.
Clare
Ugh, I dont blame them. Your chickens clearly have a well developed palate. Pickles are eeeewwww.
With apologies to all the pickle lovers out there. You might love them, but I just dont get why you would ...
Mary Kay
Karen - I just love your chickens - I wish I could have chickens - but alas my daughter won't let me, that and some stupid rule about living in the city. But some day there is still hope. Maybe the chickens would eat the pickle not pickled - like a fresh one out of the garden??
Angela
I never liked pickles either!
Had to watch all the previous episodes again. Version 3 is my favorite with your hilarious commentary!
Amanda
LOVE IT.
Sherry (BTLover2)
I swear I saw one of them wipe their tongue on some hay.
Julie

Julie

Heather
The look of disappointment on their little chicken faces is priceless.
Karen

Jan
This one kept a colicky baby quiet for 15 minutes per hour. To keep ANY baby quiet and riveted by anything for 15 minutes is difficult.
To get 15 minutes of silence with a colicky baby is miraculous., considering the usual 3 hours (per night) of nearly non-stop crying. It is especially miraculous since I don't know if his eyes focus correctly yet.
The doc says he"ll grow out of it eventually and that they "always" do as their digestive systems "mature".
Imagine if you will, THIS at ear-splitting decibels, for 3 hours: WAH,WAH, WAH,WAH,WAH,WAH, WAAAAAAAAH,WAH,WAH,WAH,WAH WAH WAHWAH. Every bone in your body instinctively reacts and wants to help ease the pain. Humans are primed to try and help crying babies.
That crying makes ME want to cry and I'm not even the parents but a stand-in who gives the parents a break once a week so they have a chance to let the ringing in their ears subside.
So I am especially grateful for this video. Nicely filmed, suspenseful ( as always) and with extra benefits.
Lori
Jan: It's really hard - I understand. I thought I would lose my mind. It felt like it would just last forever. Every baby is different, but my first and third were cryers (the first was the worst). By four months they were happy campers. Just hang on, and get help if you feel you can't cope. I know these are just words on a (web)page, but there is a mom on the other end of them who really knows how it feels.
And Karen, these videos are the bomb. I would watch them even if they ended after the inital "WILL THEY EAT IT?!?!?!?!?" Makes me laugh every time.
Lori
Oops - to Jan - I just got the fact that you are the lovely stand-in that is trying to keep people sane with a crying baby. You are one lovely human being. Bless you!
Jan
Thanks. Made my day! And I really didn't mean to hijack Karen's comments. I was just particularly sleep-deprived - and also grateful for the video. And you are right about the words "WILL THEY EAT IT?!?" Makes me laugh so hard!
Kim Merry
Maybe they only like sweet pickles?
Laura Bee
Well, at least they tried it. Good chickens.

Rofl. I loved this. My girls just found my hiding place for my black oil sunflower seeds. Now every time I go outside they run over and make a big fuss until I am forced to give them handfuls. Thank you so much for catering to the whims of your fans.
Karen Eggleston
Well, at least they wiped their mouths.
Pati Gulat

Carla Barnes
Maybe it's an acquired taste....
Carla Barnes
OMG, I have been waiting all day for this! Yay! OK, now I'm going to watch it.
