Simple Tulip Arrangement.

I know of precisely 2 no-fail ways to recognize if it's spring:

1. Outside it smells like worms and wet dog poo.

2. Grocery stores are selling buckets and buckets of tulips.

Today I'm going to focus on the tulips and how to make a big, full arrangement with as few of them as possible. 'Cause I'm cheap. It sounds easy enough, but tulips are like toddlers. The have a mind of their own and they go wherever they want to regardless of where you put them.

So to get a big vase full of tulips you need to buy least 4 bunches of them so they're crammed in there tight, and literally have no room to move. Or you can use something to put them in their place - a floral web. (if you can't get your hands on one of these you can just run clear tape across the top of the vase in a criss cross pattern. Here we go!

What you need:

1. 2 bunches (8 stems each) of tulips

2. Any vase

3. Floral web

* I don't use the powdered floral preserve when I'm using a clear vase because it makes the water a bit cloudy.

What you need — This here is what you need

The web — The floral web includes clips to stretch it across any vase

Stick tulips in — Stick the tulips in starting around the outside.

Continue placing tulips in web until you're outta tulips

Done ... should last for a week — Done ... these should last for a week

Oh! And they keep growing and growing and growing. That's why after you put tulips in a vase they seem to be all long and scraggly after a few days. If you don't happen to like long and scraggly .. just recut them to the length you want and stick them back into the vase. I happen to like long and scraggly.
