Friday in Southern Ontario was all the things a Friday in the middle of summer is supposed to be - smack dab in the middle of April.
28C with blue skies.
In summer, that's trench digging weather. In April, it's drive to the conservation area with the dog and a ball to see if he actually is a water dog weather.
So obviously I had to take advantage of this particular moment of spring. Trench digging wasn't the best use of my time.
Taking my dog to a lake and then back home where I had to spend 3 hours bathing and blow drying him because he smelled like a turtle was the best use of my time.
I dug all last week and will hopefully get it finished this weekend when it ISN'T 28 degrees outside but a slightly more seasonal 22.
I have BIG garden dreams this year so I can't get behind no matter how tempting temptation might be.
The 80 Piece Puzzle
Because this week it's the only option.
Have a good weekend!

There is another treat ball by Kong. We call it the flying saucer. It is a blue ball with a red ring around it. Every now a then a treat comes out. My girl (Lhasa Apso) is completely addicted to this toy.
Re: grooming. Even though Phil gets gets tired of the grooming, my experience is that dogs love the routine and the attention. Don't let his unrest fool you!

Excellent decision! Aren't dogs great?

Did he love the water? Every retriever I ever had was crazy about itfull stop ... and poodles are retrieving dogs. You did the right thing. I have to admit, I don't have the energy to groom a large dog anymore.

It's a big job. I don't mind it too much but he find it tiresome. So I split it up. Bath and blow dry. Today will be grooming, possibly even leaving his feet shaving and trimming until tomorrow. ~ karen!

You are also describing Maryland weather. A couple of days of 35 degree weather than boom welcome to summer at 87 degrees for a few days. Then a couple days of rain and you get the humidity we (loathe) are known for. Go with the flow, Bebe. go with the flow. lol

What a super sweet boy he is.... <3

I've had several "water" dogs over the last 50yrs. and all but 1 of them I had to teach not to be afraid of water :) after that I couldn't keep them out of it. Just be thankful that your dear boy hasn't learned the joys of having a good roll in the dirt after a swim.
BTW, is that a treat ball I see? I put ours to use at supper time. I put half my girl's kibbles in it and she's so busy pushing it around she leaves me in peace to eat supper :) Hmm.. that's not entirely true, she's got so good at maneuvering it that I only have about 5 mins ..I've learned to eat faster :)

Hi Sharon, it is a treat ball! I use it for play, and he has a bigger treat ball that I feed him his dinner with if he needs a bit of mental stimulation for the day. ~ karen!
