O.K., so this is a very last minute post with a very last minute puzzle that was inspired by a post I'm working on right now. Let's all join hands and welcome ... dahlia season.
This afternoon I bought a few new dahlia varieties from my local dahlia society and started to write a post about the varieties I'm growing this year. It's one of my favourite posts to do every year because the research involves looking at all the dahlias I've grown and the new ones I'm going to grow.
Which is nice in itself, but then I remembered that I might not make millions of dollars a year but I get paid to look at pictures of flowers, so there's that.
During my picture perusal I came across this photo of all the flower arrangements I gave away to my guests last Thanksgiving. It sounds fancier than it was. If you're a long time follower you know that Thanksgiving here routinely involves turkey gobbling competitions and measuring one another's head circumferences.
All of this to say, here's a dahlia puzzle, that I had no intention of making but then felt compelled to because it makes me look forward to dahlia season so much.
I figured, you too are ready for a photo full of floral fun.

That was a fun one!

Love how the colors below play of the neutrals above. Also made for an interesting puzzle. You do good. ;)

Took me 12.33 minutes! I can see why you're excited for dahlia time - they are certainly beautiful. I don't think I've ever grown any out here in central Alberta. I'm a container gardener - too many big trees in the yard for much proper gardening. Not complaining - I love the trees.

11:05 ..... That was a good one!! Wish I had the room to grow Dahlias. Just trying to grow Cleomes from seed!! I can't find any in the garden centres anymore.

Beautiful! Sarah Raven would approve.kj

That old guy is so weird looking. What was the artist thinking and what was I suppose to get from his 'art'. I know it makes me feel jumbled, old, uncomfortable and uncolorful - so maybe it is reflective of growing old? Maybe he was thinking about the newer music that doesn't have the meaning of music in it's core. That makes me feel old, uncomfortable, uncolorful, and very jumbled. So it IS a success! I just had to talk it through with you - thanks. (Kind of like 'The Scream'. )

I'm keen to know how you start your Dahlias in Ontario. I see that you let them sprout in a tray but then what. I'd appreaciate a segment sometime. Thanks.

11:45 of puzzling fun right before finally heading off to bed. That painting is definitely eye-catching in a creepy memorable way. Thanks for sharing.

So, I was totally in the mood for some "floral fun", however 20 minutes in (just as I was realizing how badly I suck at puzzles) the page stopped responding and reset itself!😠
I growled so loudly in aggravation I scared the cat off the bed.
Technology be damned!
It was fun and frustrating while it lasted. Thanks Karen!
The dahlias are beautiful. I'll have to add them to the list.
Night night :)
I've got to go get my cat now....
