Terraza 7
Your Neighbourhood Institution
Located between Elmhurst and Jackson Heights — two of the most diverse neighborhoods in the U.S. — Terraza 7 is a space where the acoustic memories of immigrants engage in dialogue with contemporary music, creating a unique environment for artistic experimentation and intercultural exchange. Here, art becomes a means to explore the depth and complexity of the human experience.
Founded by Freddy Castiblanco, Terraza 7 fosters collaboration between Masters of traditional music and contemporary musicians, bringing together oral traditions and innovative sounds. Each night, audiences can witness firsthand how migrations have shaped and enriched the musical landscapes of the Americas. Through live performances, we celebrate how cultural movements continuously transform sound, identity, and expression.
Through our nonprofit initiative, Acoustic Memories, we support artists who explore new sonic territories while connecting with New York’s immigrant communities. By leveraging grants and partnerships, we ensure that the voices of those who carry the stories of their homelands continue to thrive in this city.
Our Activities
We promote artistic expressions in music, film, literature, dance, and more, fostering intercultural dialogue and a deeper appreciation of how migrations have influenced our world. Terraza 7 is a space where the community not only enjoys art but also reflects on the powerful ways migration has built the rich musical traditions of the Americas.
