The cost is crazy!

ETA....ok, WOWSER on $$$.

And that's why I'm trying to cut the numbers around here, lol. I spend a lot on worm medication as it is. And feeding wormy goats is like throwing money down the drain also.

I need to do a lot more research and fact finding. I'd love to find a seminar or webinar on the subject.

I don't think it would cost $1 a day for most of my goats. I have a lot that are under 100 lbs. Out of the 24 goats that I have, only maybe 8 of them are over 100lbs. The 4 nubian girls and the 4 boers.

I slept until 8am! Only woke up once in the night to give DH a bolus since his blood sugar was high. Other than that it was a glorious night of sleep, lol!

Looked out the window this morning and saw the big guy after a doe that should already have been bred. Looks like she's cycling 5 days after a previous breeding. It's a thing with goats - the 5 day cycle. Generally they settle on that cycle - but who knows? It will be what it will be.

Need to get into the garden this morning and check things out. We've had 1.6 inches of rain that should make the plants happy!

My Texans lost a very messy game last night. :( We've got too many of our great players on the injured list and we just played on Sunday. Only 4 days of rest and beat up players didn't make for a great game.

Checked the raised beds this morning. Trying to wish the seeds to sprout, lol. Few collards have popped through but I sure hope that's not all that are going to make an appearance. I'll give it a couple more days, and if no more show up I'll have to stick a few more seeds in the ground. Ugh....

We got a little more rain today. Not anything like what was predicted, but I'm ok with that. All the rain we've had so far as done exactly like it should - it soaked in. No standing water after nearly 2 inches. Ground was parched.

I managed to get some more potatoes in tubs today and some onions planted in the holes in the cinder blocks. Puttering along. Still need to get the garlic planted and probably re-plant some collards and sugar snaps. Germination hasn't been so great.

DH still has his good and bad days. The good days are pretty good, but not nearly enough of them. He can be ok in the mornings and barley able to move himself by the afternoon/evenings. We go back to the neurosurgeon on Monday. I expect they'll adjust his shunt. :fl

Overall, he's better, but not to the point that we'd like. His balance is the worst problem. It was at its worst the first 10 days or so after surgery. When you can't feel your body tipping over it's hard to correct it before you hit the ground! He's had some improvement, but neeeeeeeeeds more. His legs are moving better. Not "sticking" to the floor as much as previously. We need more consistency there. Memory is stupid bad, lol. I'm really ok with it though - I don't mind repeating myself. My biggest wish in all of this is that he be mobile. He's got to be mobile. Improvement, yes - perfect, no. I believe that with a minor adjustment he'll be practically perfect in every way.

Had to get grain and groceries this morning. Ugh - hate shopping! Hate unloading. Hate putting it all away. Groceries are done. Grain is lounging in the bed of the truck. Need to get turned around and backed up next to the feed trailer.

We're still HOT. Headed for 87 today. I'm so over it. Supposed to have a real cool front next week. Also supposed to get down to the 40s one night. Whoop, lol.
