Welcome to the Stony Brook University Graduate School Bulletin; the official guide to academic policies and procedures for Graduate School programs. The Bulletin is updated on a regular basis. Historical versions are archived twice per year.

For general information about degree requirements, select  Degrees.  Policies & Regulations  covers the policies all graduate school students are required to know.   Programs & Courses  provides details on Graduate School advanced certificates and degree programs, as well as graduate course descriptions. 

Students are responsible for reviewing, understanding, and abiding by the University’s regulations, procedures, requirements, and deadlines as described in official publications and calendars. This includes the Graduate School Bulletin, and  Academic Calendars. For specific information about program requirements, students should visit program websites.

Stony Brook University offers additional graduate programs that are not administered or governed by the Graduate School. Information on these programs can be found in the  Health Sciences Bulletin or the  School of Professional Development Bulletin.
