The property where artists Jackson Pollock and Lee Krasner lived in East Hampton,
NY, was deeded to the Stony Brook Foundation in 1987. The Pollock-Krasner House is
a public museum that shows the setting in which the two artists created many of their
works. The floorboards in the studio are still intact, complete with the remnants
of Pollock’s famous poured paintings.
Every spring semester the Shirley Strum Kenny Student Arts Festival showcases the
diversity of our students through their creative endeavors. This entertaining, month-long
celebration displays the multifaceted talents of Stony Brook University through art
exhibitions, concerts, recitals, films, crafts and dance.
