BARBARA ELIZABETH BARROW
MARRIOTT-SLATERVILLE
Barbara passed away on Sept 30, 2024, peacefully in her home, after battling Congestive Heart Failure. She was born on June 6, 1934 in Jefferson City MO to Garland Webb and Mary Ann (Funk) Webb. She was raised both in MO and UT and graduated from Ogden High School in 1953. She married her high school sweetheart, Paul Barrow on March 26, 1954. They lived in Harrisville, Layton and Marriott-Slaterville. They had 57 years together. Barbara got a job right out of high school working for Jackson Finance Co in Ogden. She later retired from the IRS. Barbara loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and insisted on buying her great-grand children gifts to unwrap for their Birthdays and Christmas, even up until her death at age 90. She said “children love opening up gifts the best.” In her younger years she enjoyed water skiing, camping, bowling and travel. Barbara and Paul spent over 20 winters in Lake Havasu, AZ with friends. Barbara’s last years were spent playing cards and taking day trips with her bro-in-law Clair Barrow and Sis-in-law Nelda Carlos. She still loved playing cards with her dtr Paula every-time they were together. Barbara had a big personality and a great sense of humor. She was witty, sassy and very bright, even up until her death. She had an incredible memory. Barbara is survived by her children; Reed Barrow (CO), Scot (Carrie) Barrow (ID) Paula (Mark) Moffitt (UT); 4 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Bonnie Harper, 1 sister-in-law Nelda Carlos and 2 brother-in-laws Blaine (Launa) Barrow and Dean (Ann) Barrow. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul Barrow, her sisters, Dixie Fowles and Ruby Harper. We want to thank mom’s neighbors, Danny (Barbara) Brown, Wayne (CC) Morris, Angie Erwin, Shelly Madsen and Jessica Clark; without whose help, love and support, mom would not have been able to pass away in her home, which was her final wish. Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Saturday Oct 12, 2024 at Myers Mortuary 845 Washington Blvd, Ogden, Utah. A viewing will be held at 1pm prior to the funeral service at the mortuary.
