LEWISBURG – In 2010, then President Barack Obama declared January “National Human Trafficking Prevention Month.” Fourteen years later, Pennsylvania continues to combat the human rights issue and exploitative crime with awareness and services for survivors.

Over the past several years, a rising caseload in forced prostitution has affected Pennsylvania. The YWCA Greater Harrisburg’s Chief Operations Officer Rhonda Hendrickson said there is a growing trend in traffickers exploiting people with vulnerabilities.
