A feeling that people have of being loyal to and
proud of their country after with the belief that

Who is Napoleon Bonaparte?
• He was a French military leader and
emperor who conquered much of Europe
in the early 19th century.
 
• When Napoleon defeated That is the time that
England colonized India.
 
• Hindu, were the first to cooperate with the
British.
 
• This cooperation gave the Hindus to have their
capability and both study their own culture and
foreign culture and see their weaknesses and
strength.

superior to the indigenous culture

Who is Ram Mohan Roy?


-he is one of the founders of the Brahma
Sabha.
What is Brahma Sabha?
-Brahma Sabha means Society of Brahma.
-He is the father of Indian Renaissance.
What are Achievements Of Brahma Sabha?

1.Widows were given the right to remarry and not to be burned alive during
their husband’s cremation.

2. Schools were established for everyone who wanted an education, regardless


of their gender and caste.

3. Polygamy was prohibited

4. It restored the right of the people to choose their religion, whatever their
social class, and to worship wherever they wanted.

Who is Rabindranath?
• He was the son of Davendranath.
• He was born to a wealthy family and was
properly educated in India’s classical
literature, western philosophy, and the
three languages
• Sanskrit, Persians, and English
• He followed the footsteps of his father and received the Nobel prize for
literature in 1913.

• In 19th century nationalism was prevalent in Europe.

• It became the discussion and concern of curriculum, scholarship and


social movements.
 
• So the Indian student who studied in Europe became acquainted with
liberal ideas. They initially asked for.

• Equality in social opportunities for the Indians and British, but this
demand was rejected by Queen Vitoria.
 
• The English banned the production and used.

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi or
Mahatma Ghandi?
• is the famous member of national congress.
• He was popular among the intellectuals
and the masses, and was warmly accepted
by the different society. Under his
leadership millions were persuaded to
work for the cause of Indian independence
 
• Indian Muslim experienced difficulties against their fellow Indians
who were Hindus who are colonized by the English people.
 
• Indian Muslim is the first Mughal rulers of India and to be under by
Hindus was very painful.
 
• The Difference between the Indian Muslim and Hindus caused a
split to the Indian nationalist movement.

• So the Muslim demanded immediate independence from the


colonizers because they were not happy with the prospect of Hindus
rulers so they did not attend the English schools nor did they speak
the English language.
• 1817-1898 Sayid Ahmad khan
• Attempted to solve the situation by establishing
the Anglo-oriental college in 1875. Muslim
students were encouraged to go to school.
Ultimately when independence was granted to
India in 1947. The territory was divided into
Pakistan (made up of present day Pakistan and
East Bengal now known as Bangladesh, both
areas being predominantly Muslim) and India, a
dominantly Hindu nation
