The La Liga Filipina was a civic association founded on July 3, 1882 in Manila by Jose Rizal. It aimed to unite the Philippine islands into a strong and homogeneous nation, provide mutual protection for Filipinos, defend against violence and injustice, encourage education, agriculture, commerce, and promote reforms. Though non-violent, the Spanish officials felt threatened by the organization and it was suppressed shortly after its founding.

CURRICULUM
• In order to help achieved their
goals, the Propaganda Movement
put up it's own news paper called
La Solidaridad.
• The Soli, as the reformist fondly
called their official organ, came
out once every two weeks.
