MODULE 2
ASSIGNMENT
Lagao National High School (Main) is a public secondary educational institution
located in General Santos, South Cotabato. The school was established to cater
students in San Isidro by providing quality and affordable education. The school
currently is implementing a K to 12 basic education programs offering both Junior and
Senior high school in accordance with the resolution that was ordered by the
Department of education. It has STEM strand, ABM strand, HUMSS strand under
Academic track as well as Technical Vocational Livelihood (TVL) track which equips
students with technical skills for its senior high school program.
Due to COVID-19 pandemic that started last March 2020, the construction of
some of the buildings in our school temporarily stopped. Due to such circumstances,
this led to displaced the facilities and resources for learners. The library is temporarily
unavailable which is supposed to be placed in the newly constructed building. Building
for Science and TVL laboratories were already constructed but the equipment/facilities
are not totally complete.
The Senior high school building for Academics consists of 4 floors and 2 floors
for the TVL. The classrooms are capacious enough for a minimum number of students
measures 7x9 meter diameter in size and accommodates 45:1 student to teacher ratio
for the school year 2020-2021 if the situation is back to normal. The classroom has two
doors and windows that open are a nice feature. It has built-in curved chalkboard with
mounting heights and specifications as per DepEd standards and the chairs are
arranged in rows. It has reading area (where bookshelves are also located), health
corner, sink area and bulletin board which is hanged on the wall. It has built-in Smart TV
hanged at the upper portion of the blackboard used for instructional purposes (such as
powerpoint presentation and video lesson). The space inside the classroom is roomy,
well-ventilated and well-lit for teaching and learning. Some learning resources are still
on the process of procurement to cater the increasing number of enrollees in the school.

Traditional Classroom
Based on my assessment, classroom should have breakout space for group
work and more private areas for individual work and studying. It will reflect the transition
that students are facing, allowing for independence but also providing a nurturing
environment. The classroom should also have interactive stations where hands-on
learning can be experienced by all students. There should have an area inside the
classroom where students can post ideas to help make the learning environment more
engaging and fun.
The classroom would be best also to have flexible (where my learners can
choose the kind of learning space that best suit for them) and integrated activity setting
where I could make use of the shared resources in the school without compromising the
quality of instruction. Integrated classroom setting could accommodate the different
learning styles and promote higher order thinking skills. There should have variety of
books, e-readers, interactive technology, multimedia equipment in the classroom along
with the latest computers and internet connectivity so that students could easily do their
output in relation to the application of the lesson instead of going to the next building to
use the ICT laboratory. It is important to know the appropriate role of technology in the
classroom. Technology can be a powerful tool, but it must be implemented with the
intention of enhancing educator-facilitated learning, not replacing it.
1. There should have built-in blackboard and white board on the other side (This
part could also be used as projector screen) where Smart TV is installed at the
center.
2. Add cubicle for conference and consultation between teacher and students who
have special needs and for students who prefer to study alone by utilizing the
extra table and chair in the actual classroom.
3. Add desktop and printer, with wifi connection (extension from SHS faculty router)
4. Improve mini-library by adding flexible bookshelves as well as additional books
and other learning materails to encourage independent learning.
5. Provide area for catch-up lessons, small group activities (provision of sofa and
carpet
6. The chairs are arranged in arc so everybody can see each other while sharing
ideas, during class discussion.
7. The teacher’s chair is situated at the center to facilitate the exchange of ideas
among the students.

1. ICT Corner – The teacher’s table is placed in the ICT area where a set of
computer with internet connection, printer and other gadgetsa are arranged
facing the class for discussion purposes and other student activities (If discussion
with ICT aid is needed.
2. Podium- is added for reporting and future speech activities.
3. Reading are – is positioned beside the ICT corner where the students can sit,
and do the other activities related to the learning activities provided. Carpet can
be added for those students who want/prefer to sit or squat on the floor
