LEARNING OBJECTIVES

M At the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to complete spell at least 6 out of 9 animal words
correctly.

C At the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to listen to rules and identify the places by touching
the relevant pictures correctly.
1. Play Thief game: Stick the flashcards on the board. Pupils look at them for
one minute. Have them to close their eyes and take away one of the
I. PRE-LESSON flashcards. When pupils open their eyes again, they have to guess which
animal is missing. The pupil who guesses correctly gets a turn to take away
another flashcard from the board.
1. Activity 1:
 Pupils work in pairs. Distribute crossword puzzle to pairs.
 Pupils look at the pictures and fill in the words.
 Have pupils compare their answers in pairs first, then check as a class.
2. Activity 2:
 Use the picture copies to elicit the names of the places in Activity 2 (SB
pg 74).
 Give each place a number/letter, or assign a mime, or put the pictures
around the room.
 Say a rule and pupils have to say which place(s) it refers to by saying the
number/letter, touching the relevant picture. (see SOW Lesson 110 pg
II. LESSON 179 for examples)
DEVELOPMENT  Distribute worksheet. Pupils look at the pictures, read the sentences and
complete with the words in the box.
 Have pupils compare their answers in pairs first, then check as a class.
3. Activity 3:
 If time, play Hot card (Optional activity TB pg 115.) Arrange some chairs
in a circle at the front of the classroom. Pupils sit on the chairs.
 Give out a flashcard of one of the places in town. Play the song On the
street. (track 3)
 Pupils pass the flashcard clockwise around the circle.
 When you stop the music, the pupil holding the flashcard has to hold it up
and say a rule that has to do with the place in the flashcard. Eg. Hospital -
Be quiet.
