RE- ADOPTION OF OTHER LEARNING MODALITIES TO

SUPPLEMENT THE MODULAR APPROACH

The learning delivery modalities that schools can adopt

may be one or a combination of the learning modalities depending
on the COVID-19 restrictions and the particular context of the
learners in the school or locality. Adopting a new teaching
approach is often a daunting task especially if one is an early
adopter in a limited-respoanse environment.
The main reasons for using the blended modality were to
improve student’s participation, preparation, and understanding
as well as to encourage a more active rather than passive
approach to learning which can be particularly difficult especially
so that the world is facing COVID-19 pandemic.
Pagsaogan Elementary School is one of the 24
elementary school in the District of Wright I. It is a complete
elementary school with 2 teachers and has a total enrollment of
56 pupils. There is a decrease of 1 in the enrollment which was 57
last year because these pupil took their vacation in Manila and
they were not be able to come home due to the pandemic.
Thus, the school is planning to use the following
measures to undertake aside from the MDL-Printed.
1. Periodic home visitation with due considerations to health
protocols.
2. Establishment of a remote but open communication between
a learner and his/her teacher.
Hence, the school choose this method aside from
modular printed because these are the only feasible methods
which can be adopted by the learners of Pagsaogan Elementary
School.
The school will provide monitoring tools for teachers and
learners to get feedback from the parents and learners which will
aid our teachers in making accurate intervention to facilitate
learning.
Finally, as teachers work through the unknowns of the
2020-2021 school year, educators will have to continue to
examine and evaluate how to minimize teacher-student
interactions as well as online learning tools if possible to support
instructions and student development. While this year is sure to
bring more challenges, it is equally likely that there will be
incredible growthand development along the way.
